PARISH MASSES

St Anne’s Oratory

Monday to Friday: 9.00 a.m.

No Morning Mass on Saturday

Vigil Mass : Saturday : 6.00 p.m.

Masses and Ceremonies must be celebrated without a congregation

but with links on www.parishofkilrea.com or www.churchmedia.tv

APOLOGIES :

The Churchmedia server crashed on Friday morning as we prepared to celebrate the 9.00 a.m. Mass. The service returned during Mass but by that time most parishioners had found another online Mass. It was particularly disappointing as Friday was the Feast of the Sacred Heart and the final day of our Novena. There are times when technology fails us but we must be grateful for the webcam which allows us to pray as a parish community most mornings. My thanks to the concerned parishioner who thought that I had taken ill and wished me a speedy recovery, and shame on the person who reckoned that I had slept in. Forty- two years in the priesthood and it has only happened once, and that was the 7.30 a.m. Mass in the Loreto Convent Omagh in 1984 when I told the nuns a lie because I wasn’t out on an early morning sick call, I was still in my bed. Mea culpa!

FIRST ANNIVERSARY MASS :

Tuesday 24th June : 9.00 a.m. Hannah McGrath. May she rest in peace

NEW CEMETERY AT DRUMAGARNER :

The work in the new cemetery continues and we are grateful to the various contractors involved. Because of a reduction in our income the work has been phased to allow for payment. Photographs of the development are available on the Parish website. Father Cargan acknowledges receipt of £100, £200 and £100 towards the cost of the work.

PREPARING FOR THE RE-OPENING OF CHURCHES :

Most homes in the parish have received a leaflet detailing the necessary health and safety requirements for the eventual re-opening of our churches for weekend and daily Masses. A short questionnaire, to be returned, will give some indication of numbers planning to attend Masses in our three churches. This information will determine the timing of Masses, the arrangement of seating and the distribution of Holy Communion.

The envelope delivered to each house also contains a Parish Census Form which will allow us to draw up a Register of Parish Households and plan for the future needs of the parish. These can be returned to our churches or posted to the Parochial House. Forms will also be available on the Parish website. Forms returned before Friday 3rd July will be entered in a draw with a prize of £100.
